FOO FIGHTERS (Estados Unidos): "The Pretender"

Este es un video que admiré desde que capté visualmente su espíritu luchador y combativo. Los Foo Fighters (liderados por Dave Grohl, ex miembro de Nirvana) destilan ese élan en esta canción con una energía juvenil impactante.

Si bien es cierto que la rebeldía no lo es todo, a pesar de ello es base importante para propuestas de mayor envergadura, si se las sabe orientar.

En cuanto a la letra de la canción, es un contagiante himno disconformista envuelto en un ritmo trepidante y atrapante. Su efecto persuasivo es inmediato. Y lo mejor es que convence con la verdad.

CIENFUE (Panamá): "Terroristas tercermundistas"

Este video del cantante panameño Cienfue es recomendable. Pertenece a su último disco "Macho de Monte Suite", del 2008. La primera vez que lo aprecié me impactó tanto visual como líricamente. Me produjo una identificación emocional inmediata, y luego estuve analizando su letra.

Obviamente refleja bien el sentimiento latinoamericano, que no se deja llevar por el miedo. Hace alusión a un pueblo que en la lucha diaria no deja de sonreir y disfrutar de esta única vida. En estos días de matanza indiscriminada de los Estados burgueses a poblaciones enteras, sea en Medio Oriente o en Latinoamérica, esta canción es un llamado a la rebeldía y a la alegría.

PRESENTACIÓN

La música actual, se dice, está en plena decadencia. En tiempos de la dictadura nacionalista de Velasco les decían a nuestros padres, a su vez, que los ritmos de procedencia extranjera provocaban alienación. Sin embargo, frente a estas opiniones manifiesto mi más completo desacuerdo. Por eso nace este blog.

Los géneros musicales, sean los que sean, son expresiones formales que necesitan un contenido. Este contenido viene a ser la esencia de una canción o composición artística. Y, obviamente, dicha esencia puede reflejar los intereses o sentimientos del pueblo, como también los de los grupos de poder.

Con este blog, pues, quiero aportar al "rescate" de algunas canciones, videos y demás composiciones que muestren, en parte o de manera acabada, el sentimiento popular. Partiendo desde géneros que son llamados "clásicos" (esos que escuchaban nuestros abuelos o padres), hasta los que son de gusto de las masas juveniles. Me interesa indagar en esto, y en esta búsqueda también quiero mostrar algo de mis propios gustos e intereses.
